Privacy Notice – State of Charge
version 1.0
In this privacy notice, we explain how we handle your personal data. We also explain how you can access, correct, or delete your data. State of Charge complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Collection and Processing of Personal Data
We consider it very important that your personal data is handled with care. We therefore process and safeguard personal data carefully. In doing so, we comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations. We use appropriate security measures to protect the personal data we process, including measures to prevent unauthorized access.
We receive your data because you provide it to us, for example when you leave your details on our website or use our services.
Early Access Emails: While the core App does not require an account to function, we collect your email address if you voluntarily provide it to register for early access to our Apple or Android app. We will only use this email to contact you regarding app updates and releases, and we will not share it with third-party advertisers.
Telemetry & Usage Data: We may log technical data such as IP addresses and device types solely for the purpose of maintaining server stability, providing the service, and monitoring the health and latency of the data stream.
We do not share your personal data with third parties, unless this is necessary to provide the requested service or we are legally required to do so.
Third-Party Services and Subscriptions
To manage premium memberships and authorize your access to paid features, we use a third-party service called RevenueCat. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history. Please note that actual payment processing is handled securely by the respective App Stores (e.g., Apple), and we do not collect or store your payment details.
Data Retention Period
We do not store your personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes for which we collected it, or for compatible purposes for which we reuse it. We apply a retention policy. If we no longer need the data for the purposes described above, we may still retain the data for archiving or legal proceedings.
Access, Rectification, and Erasure of Personal Data
You can ask us whether we process personal data about you and, if so, which data. We can then provide you with access to the personal data we process about you. Do you believe your personal data has been processed incorrectly or incompletely? If so, you can ask us to correct or supplement it (rectification).
You have the right to correct or request deletion of your personal data. Deletion can only take place where legally permitted.
Web Statistics
On our public website, anonymized visitor data is collected using Google Analytics to measure interest in the various sections and help us improve the site. We store this anonymized visitor data for a maximum of 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
State of Charge is responsible for the processing of the data you provide. We use your data (in anonymized form) to analyse website visitors’ browsing behaviour and to improve the website
Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may update this privacy notice from time to time. Any changes will be published on our website.
Complaints
We are happy to help you with complaints about the processing of your personal data. If we cannot resolve the matter together, you also have the right under privacy law to file a complaint with the supervisory authority: the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
